Enjoy visiting other people’s gardens? These self-guided area walks and excursions are scheduled this weekend.
• Amherst Backyard Stroll. 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. July 10 and 11 with about 24 gardens. (Not all gardens will be open up July 11). Maps at Amherst back garden facilities at 111 Campus Travel West, Snyder and on the City of Amherst site beneath “Monitor us.” Totally free.
• Excitement Around Hamburg Village Yard Walk. 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. July 10 and 11 with 31 gardens. Maps on tour times at Memorial Park bandstand, Lake and Union streets. No suppliers in the park this calendar year. Free.
• Lockport in Bloom. 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. July 10 and 11 with 30 gardens. Evening tour from 7 to 10 p.m. July 9 with 16 gardens. Maps on tour day at the Kenan Heart, 433 Locust St., and a variety of enterprises. Cost-free. (Coincides with Lockport Chalk Stroll and Kenan Centre American Craftsmen: 50th Anniversary Weekend.)
• North Tonawanda Backyard Wander. 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. July 10 and 11 with 24 gardens, largely in historic district. Maps on tour times at Carnegie Art Centre, 240 Goundry St. Facebook. Free. (Coincides with the month-to-month Makers Sector July 10 at the artwork centre. Also Pedals to Petals, a biking occasion July 10 involving yard walks of North Tonawanda and Lockport.)
