Gov. Beshear stories COVID-19 outbreak in eastern Ky. nursing property, appears to be new variant

FRANKFORT, Ky. (WKYT) – Governor Andy Beshear has furnished an update on COVID-19 situations.

The governor states a COVID-19 outbreak has been described at a nursing home in eastern Kentucky. There are 41 situations claimed, which include 5 citizens that have been hospitalized. Dr. Steven Stack says 30% of vaccinated people are symptomatic and 83% of the unvaccinated at the nursing property are displaying signs and symptoms. He says the vaccination has decreased symptomatic disorder. Just one of the five citizens in the clinic has been vaccinated.

They say it appears to be a different variant from the United Kingdom, Brazil, or South African pressure. Dr. Stack says it is the similar cluster that they are performing some analysis on.
