Woman, 37, killed in daytime shooting outside Queens home

NEW YORK (1010 WINS) – A 37-year-old woman died after she was shot multiple times outside a home in Queens on Saturday afternoon, police said Sunday.

The woman was shot in front of a home on 97th Street, near 32nd Avenue, in North Corona around 3:30 p.m.

The woman was found by officers responding to a 911 call, according to police, who said she had been shot four times in the stomach by an unknown man.

The woman was rushed to Elmhurst Hospital, where she was pronounced dead. She was later identified as Josefina Perez De La Rosa of Queens.

A neighbor told the Daily News that she heard screaming before gunfire erupted.

“We heard one shot first and then the woman yelled for help,” another neighbor said. He said he then heard three more shots and saw a man in a white jacket walking away from the scene.

Citizen App video shows police investigating at a house surrounded by crime scene tape on Saturday evening.

No arrests had been reported as of Sunday morning.
