Designer Michelle Gage’s client — a author, wife, and mother of two — understood what she liked: saturated colors, artwork and brass. She incorporated several of these elements into her Chestnut Hill house (see: blue kitchen cabinets patterned entryway tiles), then hired Gage in 2019 to furnish it. “In our to start with conference, she claimed she needed a hot pink velvet sofa,” suggests Gage. “My assistant and I seemed at each other and mentioned, ‘Yeah, we can do this!’”

A brass credenza in the spouse and children space matches steel factors in the kitchen area. Gage brought in apricot-hued island seating and included a patterned window procedure (finished by Claudia Clobes Yudis at Urban Loft Style Studio) to give the eye a position to land.
