A suspicious fireplace broken a historic residence in Poughkeepsie early Thursday, City Fire Main Mark Johnson stated.
The fire decimated the dwelling, known to several as the “Halloween Home,” on Route 44 and South Clinton Road, and displaced 10 people today.
The blaze shut the eastbound arterial via the morning. Numerous trucks had been along the street as firefighters worked to battle the flames. Some doused the higher ground of the creating from atop a ladder.
