NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) — Brittany Rashkin and her boyfriend, Jack, by no means predicted they would drop their freshly renovated property 6 months immediately after shopping for it.
But a flood early Sunday morning wiped away anything, in their 1st household.
“It seemed like a tornado came by. Furnishings from a person facet of the home was on the other facet of the home,” Rashkin reported. “Everything was absent it was just a mud fest. It smelled horrible.”
The couple had just procured the home on Currey Highway and planned to start off a family in it.
“Completely furnished almost everything manufacturer new, brand new household, 6 months in the past. 6 months in the past, now we have to begin all over yet again,” Rashkin claimed.
Their dwelling in South Nashville backed up to Mill Creek which flooded quickly on Saturday evening.
The pair immediately gathered their canines and possessions just before looking for higher floor at a neighbor’s residence with their cars.
“Knowing that we back again to the creek we knew the risk but we didn’t assume it would get to the point it acquired,” Rashkin said.
For now, the couple is making ready for subsequent techniques and getting points day by day. The two are thankful for the outreach of the community during their time of need.
Rashkin as very well as her neighbors have GoFundMe web pages active to aid with charges not coated by insurance as they prepare to search for short term housing and new household furniture.
