VALPARAISO, IN – Robert Emmett Jones, 84, of Valparaiso, passed absent very quickly on Tuesday, January 12, 2021 at the Valparaiso Hospice Center. He was born April 14, 1936 in Gary, Indiana to Charles and Rena (Spitler) Jones.

He attended St. Paul Catholic Quality University and graduated from Boone Grove High School in 1955. Even though in quality school he had a area paper route, was a Boy Scout and labored for Wetmore Funeral House.

He served in the US Army and was stationed in Korea, in which he realized to drive all the things in the motor pool. On returning residence, he joined the Valparaiso Fireplace Department the place he held the rank of Captain. He retired with 24 several years of support and then turned a Porter County Deputy Sheriff performing out of the Civil Bureau. He retired immediately after 12 years owing to health issues. For the duration of this time, he was also affiliated with MOELLER FUNERAL Residence. In 1982, he was co-owner of Cap Town and co-operator of a inventory treatment which he raced at Rensselaer Race Way, Broadway and Shady Hill Race Tracks.

Bob was an avid bowler and winner of many trophies as very well as a motorbike fanatic. He was a member of the Hoosier Pleasure Riders and the Porter County CB Golf equipment which elevated money for small children with daily life threatening ailments. He owned and operated Bob’s Lawn Mowing and Snow Plowing Solutions for many years. In Oct of 1978, he met the adore of his life, Emily Ruby Schell. They have been married in French Lick on June 6, 1989, and afterwards at St. Paul’s Catholic Church on March 30, 1992 with Msg. John Charlebois officiating.

Bob organized the Valparaiso Firefighter’s Demolition Derby for quite a few yrs. He volunteered for the Valparaiso Soap box Derby and judged the floats in the North Judson Mint Festival and the Christmas Property Decorations. He remained lively with the Brothers and Sisters of the Valparaiso Fireplace Section all his lifetime. He was a lifetime member of the Valparaiso Firefighters Community #1124 Union and the Firefighter’s Pension Board. Bob visited them routinely and liked the camaraderie of “his boys”.

He was preceded in death by his parents and toddler brother, Richard Jones. He is survived by his loving wife, Emily and his adopted brother, Timothy (Karen) Jones and a niece and nephew. He is also survived by numerous relations on his wife’s aspect.

Visitation will be held Friday, January 15, 2021 from 1:00-5:00 PM at MOELLER FUNERAL Dwelling, Valparaiso. A mass of Christian burial will be held Saturday January 16, 2021 at 11:00 AM at St. Paul Catholic Church with Fr. Douglas Mayer presiding. In lieu of bouquets, donations may well be manufactured to St. Paul Catholic Church, Valparaiso Fire Division or the VNA Hospice Middle. MOELLER FUNERAL Property is in cost of arrangements.
