Marie Walter Suits, 100, of St. Johnsville, NY, passed away peacefully in her snooze on August 5, 2021 just 10 days shy of her 101st birthday.
Born in St. Johnsville, NY on August 15, 1920 as the oldest of three little ones to her mom and dad, Philip and Beatrice (Snell) Walter, Marie was educated at Fort Klock Faculty and St. Johnsville Large College. She worked in the St. Johnsville Production Corp along with some other organizations that assisted in the war energy. Marie took great satisfaction in her household residence currently being a part of American heritage. The home in which she grew up was a aspect of the Underground Railroad, top fugitive slaves an escape route to Canada.
Marie married Harry Fits on April 30, 1942 at her parents’ home. They went on together to establish their very own household farm. Some of her leisure enjoyments bundled knitting, crocheting and gardening as nicely as cooking and canning fruits and veggies. She is survived by two sons, Gary (Cheryl) and Keith (Debbie) her grandchildren Richard (Karen) Suits, Brenda (Skip) Gehring, Darren (Carissa) Fits, Gregory Satisfies, Brian (Rachel) Suits and Kevin (Sherry) Fits and 12 fantastic-grandchildren together with multiple nieces and nephews.
Visitation hours will be held 11a.m.-1p.m. on Tuesday, August 10, 2021 at Vincent A. Enea Funeral Provider, (next to the Masonic Lodge), 20 Bridge St., St. Johnsville, NY, 518-568-7040. A prayer supplying will be held at 1pm followed right away by a graveside company at St. Johnsville Cemetery. A reception to honor Marie’s existence will be held at the Canajoharie Moose Lodge, 205 Erie Blvd, Canajoharie.
