The male that District of Columbia police arrested with a semiautomatic rifle in close proximity to the vice president’s residence this week is a U.S. Army veteran.

Previous Spc. Paul Michael Murray served as an unmanned aerial motor vehicle operator from March 2010 to April 2014, Army spokesman Gabriel Ramirez explained in a statement.
