Larry James Rhodes Sr. – Obituary – Mahoning Valley

Jan. 4, 1948 — June 30, 2021 (age 73)

WARREN — Larry James Rhodes Sr, 73, passed away Wednesday (June 30) at his home surrounded by his loved ones.

Larry was born Jan. 4, 1948 in Chardon, a son of Harry II and Nellie (Bebout) Rhodes.

After graduating from Southington Significant college in 1966, Larry enlisted in the United States Navy where he served as a Petty Officer 3rd course during the Vietnam War. He was awarded a number of honors and decorations together with the Nationwide Protection Services Medal, Vietnam Services Medal with Two Bronze Stars, Republic of Vietnam Marketing campaign, Qualified Rifleman medal, Pistol Marksmanship Ribbon and the Purple Coronary heart Award.

In 1969, Larry was honorably discharged for his support.

Upon his return home, Larry attained an associates diploma and labored as a steel mill operator, retiring from Bull Moose Tube.

Larry appreciated coaching sports activities, fishing, camping and golfing.]

Larry is survived by his loving wife of 50 many years, Rolinda (Ianucci) Rhodes children Larry Jr. (Jennifer) Rhodes, Victoria Wilkinson, Rachel Rhodes (Michael Williams) and Roland Sr. (Stacey) Rhodes seven grandchildren a brother, William (Marge) Rhodes and sisters Myrtle Marie Nalbach and Jennie (Norman) Foertch.

He was preceded in loss of life by his mothers and fathers a stepmother MaryAnne Rhodes brothers Harry Rhodes III and Robert Rhodes Sr. and a sister, Ruth Ester McElwee.

Larry will be laid to rest with a personal ceremony at All Souls Cemetery in Bazetta with entire Armed service Honors
