A Lafayette guy was arrested Friday in link with a residence enhancement fraud situation out of St. Landry Parish.
The Sheriff’s Workplace claims that 48-year-old Albert George Johnson was arrested subsequent an investigation that began in February 2020.
In accordance to Sheriff Bobby J. Guidroz, Detectives ended up notified on February 23, 2020 to a residential contractor fraud incident.
Upon additional investigation, it was determined that the target allegedly entered into a contractual agreement with Johnson, who is recognized as the owner of Alliance Covenant Painting, LLC.
The victim informed deputies that Johnson had allegedly agreed to transform the victim’s home and gained an initial payment on September 21, 2019. The transform commenced the subsequent working day. Deputies say Johnson continued to acquire payment for labor and content from the victim but only sporadically worked at the victim’s residence.
Johnson previous labored at the residence on December 20, 2019 and did not total the transform.
The overall quantity the victim paid to Johnson was $14,200, which incorporated content and labor for the reworking job.

On August 27, 2021, Johnson was booked at the St. Landry Parish Jail and charged with residence enhancement fraud.
