Just after interrupting a residential theft in Fontana, police officers shot and killed a 29-calendar year-aged suspect Saturday evening, officers explained.
Officers have been sent to a woman’s home in the spot of Justin Road and Heitz Way soon after getting a report of a theft in progress.
They arrived to locate a gentleman within the property, and they tried using to detain him, Officer Kevin Anderson of the Fontana Police Office said in an email.
The suspect ran from them and a foot pursuit ensued as a result of various neighborhoods.
“Officers located the suspect hiding in an outbuilding and an officer concerned capturing transpired,” Fontana police reported. “Officers administered medical aid, but the suspect ultimately succumbed to his accidents.”
He was pronounced lifeless at the scene. It is unclear what prompted the capturing or how lots of officers opened fireplace.
Authorities did not launch the identification of the male, who they explained as remaining a convicted felon from Rancho Cucamonga.
The taking pictures will be investigated by the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department, in addition to the Fontana Law enforcement Office.
