Family shares message of caution immediately after deadly at-dwelling auto repair service incident

NORFOLK, Va. (WAVY) — Sometimes men and women consider on side hustles to make finishes meet up with. For 41-year-old Josh Lovelidge, his passion for cars and trucks and the need to make ends fulfill intersected.

His brother, Lawerence “Larry” Lovelidge, says he was always working on cars and trucks and supporting some others. Regrettably, that is what Josh was undertaking when an incident took his life on Sunday, March 14.

“He was generally about you know you have to have your jack stands, your E-brake on, all about staying harmless. He understood far better,” states Larry.

Detectives instructed the Lovelidge family that Josh had been working with a scissor jack and not employing jack stands to guide when it collapsed. Kyle Loftus, a supervisor at AAA Suffolk Auto Treatment Heart, states getting that more failsafe may have saved his life.

Alongside with a jack stands, he states that if you’re working on your car or truck at household, be mindful of other safety steps like suitable clothes and not undertaking upkeep you are not comfortable working with.

The Lovelidge brothers have been just commencing to get there at a place of normalcy in their life after becoming divided in the Oklahoma foster treatment system as young children after their mom passed away.

They’ve lived in Virginia alongside one another and bonded in recent years. Larry claims he’s lucky to have recognized his brother, even if only for a limited time.

“He loved his truck. He liked Chevy. He’d be not at all mad realizing it was a Chevy that landed on him,” Larry stated with tears in his eyes. He adds that they have been able to have an urn produced for him reflecting his enthusiasm for cars. It has the Chevy emblem on it.

“He truly desired the best for everybody he arrived in call with. His friendship, enjoy, and loyalty had been freely presented. Folks gravitated to him, he welcomed them, produced them household.
