Back to School sales: The best deals on tech, study supplies, clothes, shoes and more

Back to School sales are in full swing, and students are beginning to stock up on their Fall semester needs.

Whether preparing for in-person classes or continuing remote sessions, we’ve pulled together some of the best deals on school supplies, dorm decorations, clothing and updated equipment, such as laptops and tablets.

Back to School tech: Laptops, tablets, more

If you’re in need of a new laptop, tablet or phone, there are many sites offering deep discounts on the latest tech. Here are some of the best deals:

Samsung: While Samsung has some of the most updated tech on the market, the company still has deals for students this school year. You can save 15% on the Galaxy Book Pro for a limited time, thanks to the back to school sale.

Dell: Discounts on Dell products are available to college and high school students.

Lenovo: Until Sunday, Aug. 22, Lenovo shoppers can save an extra 10 percent on workstation needs.

Best Buy: While there are everyday deals on Best Buy’s site, there are exclusive savings for students on laptops, desktop and headphones.

Back to School attire: Backpacks, hoodies and uniforms

It’s always fun to plan a “first day” outfit, right? Or maybe you just need a few fits for colder weather? Either way, here are some deals on sweaters, jackets and shoes for students.

Adidas: Branded backpacks, sweatsuits and shoes are on sale. Calling it a “comeback season,” some of the most advertised Adidas items are the Prime Backpack ($60), the Manga Hoodie ($90), Adidas Sportswear Future Icons 3-Stripes Hoodie ($65) and the Essential Fleece Tapered 3-Stripe Pants ($45).

JCPenney: If you’re looking for a one-stop shop, JCPenney has you covered. From activewear to uniforms to graphic tees, the site has sections for those of all ages (BTW: Back to School items are an extra 25 percent off when you use the code “SCHOOL21″).

Macy’s: Kids backpacks are $19.99, and there are sales happening year-round on clothing for all ages. If you’re looking for dorm linens and other decor, Macy’s has an extensive home department to check out, as well.

Old Navy: “Everyday Magic Deals,” starting at just $5 for select items, make “Back to School” shopping affordable for the family. T-shirts are priced starting at $5, activewear starts at $8 and sweatshirts and sweatpants start at $15. Old Navy also offers bundles on facial coverings, designed with a variety of patterns.

Cotton On: The site is currently advertising its “Back to Cool” promotion, marking a BOGO sale on its denim products. The sale is good on graphic t-shirts and leggings.

J.Crew: J.Crew has a site-wide sale of 20 percent off all clothing items, and $30 off sale items.

Zappos: Need some kicks for the new semester? Zappos prides itself on making comfortable clothes for kids and there are savings on matching pant and shirt sets along with velcro shoes.

DSW: DSW has a half-off sale on athletic shoes, including designer sneakers for men, women and kids.

Shopbop: Sandals, bathing suits and beachwear have made their way off the homepage of Shopbop. Now, the site is offering discounts on boots, sneakers and sweaters. Right now, all shoes are 50 percent off.

Back to School dorm furniture, prints and decor

This one is for those who are going away for college. While the pandemic has changed the dorm experience for students, those who are returning to “in-person” will need some updated room decor when they arrive on campus.

Bed, Bath and Beyond: Those who create a College Savings account with the site can get 20 percent off on all purchases through Sept. 30.

Wayfair: In need of a workspace makeover? Wayfair has deals on desk lamps, chairs and organizers. Work-from-home folks, this one is for you, too.

The Home Depot: From now through Sept. 8, you can take up to 20 percent off select Home Office Furniture, 30 percent off Back to Class Bedding & Bath Linens, 50 percent off select Mattress Toppers and 20 percent off select Cookware Sets.

Nordstrom: While Nordstrom has pretty much all the “Back to School” essentials, the site is stepping up its game on “home away from home” needs such as silverware, colored pen sets and throw blankets.

Society6: The site is offering 30 percent off wall art, office accessories and tabletop designs.

Dormify: Dormify has bedding, furniture and artwork that makes your room unique, and students can get an extra discount on their Fall semester needs. Get 40 percent off sheets when you buy a comforter or duvet by using the code “SHEETS40″ at checkout.

Shutterfly: Students going away to college can get some fresh prints of photos of friends and family to get them through the school year. Shutterfly offers a 50 percent discount on all personalized items by using the code “UNLIMITED.” The deal ends Sunday, Aug. 15.

Back to School study supplies: Notebooks, backpacks, more

Staples: Staples has “Back to School” savings pretty much all summer long, but is currently stepping up its inventory of notebooks, binders, poster boards and markers. The site is also offering up to $100 off desk chairs and office furniture.

Walmart: Walmart is making Back to School shopping easier by separating items by grade in its “School Prep HQ.”

Office Depot: School supplies, such as copy paper, glue, pencil cases, markers and highlighters, are more than 50 percent off right now.

Barnes and Noble: Stock up on last-minute summer reading or grab a planner before the school year starts. Barnes and Noble also has collections of study books.

GlassesUSA: If you’ve been meaning to update your eyewear, you might as well do it before school starts. Inspired by the “Back to School” season, GlassesUSA is offering a BOGO promotion on glasses.
