He was referring to a demonstration held by activist team ShutDownDC. The team was protesting Hawley’s announcement that he would item to electoral votes from some states when the Senate convened Wednesday to certify the success of November’s election. President Donald Trump has claimed devoid of proof that the election was riddled with election fraud. PolitiFact and other independent fact-checkers have identified these statements of voter fraud to be false.
